Sherry Burgess

I was born in a small town in Central Saskatchewan (Paynton) and raised on a farm in that area. I graduated High School in Maidstone in 1973. I was married for 22 years, have been divorced now for 29. I have two children - Steven - 49, living in Utah with his wife and five of his six children (his oldest daughter is married and living in Idaho), and a daughter-Susan-48- living in Edmonton, where her one son.lives as well. 

I have volunteered throughout my entire adult life. Sports groups (softball, T-ball,, bowling), community association, Zone board, Royal Canadian Air Force Association, Royal Canadian Legion and many Charitable organizations have all seen the benefit of my input over the years. And now that I am retired, I am very involved in Strasbourg- bulletin board, taxi co-ordinator, Senior Club President, Last Mountain Pioneer Home, and Meals on Wheels, as well as a few other groups. I keep very busy! 

I have worked as a courier, short order cook,, housemother,, Air Cadet Officer, retail clerk, on cable TV, as a manager for Heart and Stroke, Diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis, and Kidney Foundation door to door campaigns and a commissionaire, as well as a few Provincial and Civic Elections. 

I was a member of the Canadian Forces for 25 years, attaining and holding the rank of Captain from 2001 until my retirement from the Air Force in 2020. 

I have lived in Strasbourg for over 16 years and worked at Richardson Pioneer for 13 1/2, until my retirement at the end of August in 2021. I have served on Town Council since 2022. My hobbies are volunteering, reading, and jigsaw puzzles.
