Taxes

1. Cash, cheque, or money order. The Town has a secure lockbox available outside the Town Office under the RCMP sign for after-hours payments.
2. Online Banking with RBC, all Credit Unions, BMO, TD, CIBC, and Scotiabank. This method is for Utility and Tax payments only. To set up your online banking, your utility account number and tax roll number (which are found on your bills) function as the banking account number. There are two accounts which have to be set up separately – Town of Strasbourg Utility and Town of Strasbourg Tax. Do not add zeros to the beginning of the account number. Some financial institutions require more digits, so you may need to add zeros at the end of the account number to make it work.
3. Visa, MasterCard, and Debit. Visa and MasterCard can be called in over the phone. Debit has to be completed at the Town Office.
4. Interac e-Transfer. Send e-Transfers to the Town of Strasbourg’s email address:  strasbourg@sasktel.net. In the “Messages” field of your e-Transfer, you MUST include: Civic Address, invoice number (if applicable), what you are paying for: Taxes, Utility, Dog License, Building Permit, etc.

• Taxes paid by May 31 - 6% discount
• Taxes paid by June 30 - 6% discount
• Taxes paid by July 31 - 5% discount
• Taxes paid by August 31 - 4% discount
• Taxes paid by September 30 - 3% discount
• Taxes paid by October 31 - 2% discount
• Taxes paid by November 30 - 1% discount
• Taxes paid by December 31 - 0% discount

Taxes are due December 31, 2025.  Penalty will be applied January 1, 2026 at 1% interest per month.
Any prepayments of taxes will receive the 6% discount.

As per Bylaw No. 458/25, all taxable properties are to be levied as follows:

• Agricultural Land – $850.00

• Agricultural Improvements – $850.00

• Agricultural Land & Improvements – $850.00

• Residential Land – $950.00

• Residential Improvements – $1,750.00

• Residential Land & Improvements – $1,750.00

• Commercial Land – $950.00

• Commercial Improvements – $1,750.00

• Commercial Land & Improvements – $1,750.00

As per Bylaw 458/25, the Town has the following mill rate factors applied against all taxable land and improvements:

• Agricultural - 1.0
• Residential - 0.9
• Commercial/Industrial - 1.0

At the April 9, 2025 Town of Strasbourg Council Meeting, the municipal mill rate was set at 2 mills.

As per the Government of Saskatchewan, the confirmed 2025 education property tax mill rates are as follows:

• Agricultural Property – 1.07 mills

• Residential Property – 4.27 mills

• Commercial/Industrial Property – 6.37 mills
