Strasbourg Golf Course

The first golf course in Strasbourg was where the present school grounds are and there were additional fairways on the north end of Town. As the Town grew, these grounds lost out to a row of houses on Currie Crescent, the Lutheran Church, and the new William Derby School. Sometime in 1956, a group of interested volunteers took over the grounds east of Town and constructed a six-hole golf course. Later it was re-designed to a nine-hole course. A small clubhouse was built, then rebuilt and finally a larger, new addition was added. There has been continued progress to the Club with new trees being planted and upgrades to the greens and grounds. The course is all volunteer-run, and we appreciate the work and effort that goes into keeping our course running and looking as good as it does.

Some of the events that happen at the club are the weekly men’s syndicate, $10,000 Hole-In-One tournament (which usually attracts 80 golfers), and annual local tournaments. The Club also works with local organizations, the Strasbourg and District Fire & Rescue Department and the Strasbourg Maroons Senior Hockey team, to put on events to sponsor fundraisers.
